Step 1 of the BRIK & PEARL system — the lift. Bond Flex is the only Elleebana Step 1 that's a hybrid — thio and cysteamine chemistry together, breaking down the disulfide bonds so the hair can be reshaped. It's the step that softens the bond structure so the hair can take a new shape, and it's built to hold where you place it whether you're working traditional, freestyle, or glueless.
Enriched with KeraVeg-18, a plant-derived protein and amino acid complex that works on the hair during the lift rather than as a separate treatment afterward. Supplier testing showed up to 21% improvement in the strength of chemically treated hair.

The BRIK & PEARL 3 Step System
Every BRIK & PEARL service runs on the same three products. Step 1 breaks the bonds down and Step 2 reforms them — you need both. Step 3 finishes the service, and also goes in at Step 1.5 between the lift and the set.

Step 1.5 isn't used on brow lamination — go straight from Step 1 to Step 2. LASH LIFE still finishes the service at Step 3.
These are ranges, not timers. Look at strong lashes — 10 to 15 minutes is a five minute spread, and that's deliberate. Room temperature, product viscosity, how much balm or adhesive you used, and whether you've mixed Elleemix into Step 1 all move where you land inside the range. Here's how to check whether the lash is ready.
How to Run a Flex Check and a Set Check
The processing times above will get you there for most clients. The checks are how you confirm the lash is ready before you remove the lotion — lash type, room temperature, how much balm or adhesive you used, and whether you've mixed Elleemix into Step 1 all shift where a particular client lands inside the range.
Why it's worth the ten seconds
- Remove Step 1 too early and the bonds haven't broken down enough to hold a new shape. The lift drops, or never really takes.
- Leave it on too long and you get frizz, tight uneven curl, and a lash pushed further than it needed to go.
- The check tells you which side of that you're on while you can still do something about it.
Flex check — during Step 1 (Bond Flex)
About 30 seconds to a minute before your estimated time is up, take clean tweezers, grip a single lash near the tip, and gently peel it away from the rod or shield, bending it back and down.

Be gentle. Too much tension during the check can weaken the lash, and you only need to test one.

Frequently Asked Questions
| How do I do a Korean lash lift with BRIK & PEARL? |
| Bond Flex is safe to the tips, which is what Korean lash lift work needs, and the processing times are the same as a traditional lift. On a traditional lift you'd still place to around three quarters, or wherever the lash assessment and the look you're after call for. For the technique itself you have two options: mix Bond Flex with Elleemix Powder at the same ratios you already use with Elleeplex, or work with a balm. Whichever you prefer — nothing new to learn either way. |

| Can I use Bond Flex for Korean lash lift and brow lamination, or is it lash lift only? |
| It covers all of it — lash lift, Korean lash lift, lash lamination, brow lamination, and Monofusion. That's the reason a lot of artists move to this system. Korean lash lift runs on the same processing times as a traditional lash lift; brow lamination has its own shorter times, both listed above. |
| Do I need adhesive, or can I work glueless? |
| Either. Bond Flex has a controlled viscosity that holds placement across traditional, freestyle, and glueless application, so it fits the way you already work rather than making you change technique. Traditional and freestyle use adhesive as normal. Glueless and Korean lash lift techniques use a balm instead. Worth knowing: how much balm or adhesive you use affects how quickly the hair processes, which is part of why the times are published as ranges. |
| What is KeraVeg-18? |
| A plant-derived protein and amino acid complex built into the Step 1 formula. The point of putting it in Step 1 rather than selling it separately is that it's working on the hair while the hair is processing, which is when it's most vulnerable. Supplier testing showed up to 21% improvement in the strength of chemically treated hair. |
| How much do I use per service? |
| That's the advantage of a pump over a sachet — you decide. A set of fine lashes and a full brow lamination don't need the same amount, and you're not committed to a fixed dose. Used sparingly you'll get up to 40 services from a bottle. |
| Why does Bond Flex run out before LASH LIFE? |
| From the first pump, Bond Flex and Bond Lock should be used within 3 months. LASH LIFE has a 6 month window. So if you're keeping up with your column, you'll reorder Steps 1 and 2 roughly twice for every one bottle of LASH LIFE. Order Bond Flex and Bond Lock together — they're on the same clock. |
| My new bottle isn't dispensing anything. Is it faulty? |
| Almost certainly not — it needs priming. Airless pump bottles have an internal mechanism that has to be activated before the first use. Press the pump firmly several times and it'll begin dispensing. Do this before your client is in the chair. Never open, puncture, or dismantle the bottle to check the contents. |
| How should I store it, and how long does it last? |
| Upright, always, between 39°F and 77°F. Around 71–75°F is ideal for both storage and working. Unopened it has a 3 year shelf life. Once you prime and first pump it, use it within 3 months. There's a marker on the bottle for that date and it's worth actually filling in — three months goes fast, and an airless bottle gives you no visual cue about how much is left. |
